Program Development

I first started designing English language (ESL/EFL) courses and programs in 1991, at the University of York in England. Since then, I have designed nearly 50 courses and programs in a number of different disciplines at the undergraduate, graduate and adult education levels for schools, colleges and universities in the USA, Canada, Hong Kong and England.

On this part of the ICIE site, you can find examples of some of my work in program development. Under Graduate and Undergraduate Programs you can find details of courses I have developed for MA, MBA and diploma programs, and courses for BA and BEd programs. There are also details of courses I have developed for ESL and EFL programs, as well as programs promoting innovation in higher education, staff development, reflective practice and teacher development. The name of the course and the program is given first, followed by the name of the institution and the years during which I presented the course.

Program Development Publications gives details of three new book chapters; one on curriculum development, one on the use of film in the language classroom and one on the collaborative creation of a teaching appraisal system. There are also two articles; on goals-based evaluation and on content-based instruction.

If you or your organization would like support in creating new courses or new programs, please email me at icie@andycurtis.org.
